Hi, I'm Stephanie ♡

I’m the artist behind Feather & Fox Studio, a little watercolour studio based in New Brunswick, Canada.

I’ve always been happiest when I’m creating something. These days, you’ll usually find me with a paintbrush in hand, bringing to life cozy country homes, curious little animals, wildflowers and the quiet, ordinary moments that make a place feel like home.

My work is soft, whimsical and a little nostalgic, inspired by the countryside around me and the kind of simple, beautiful life I’m drawn to.

How Feather & Fox Began

I’ve always loved to draw. Pencil and charcoal were my comfort zone for years, and although I had always dreamed of learning to paint, painting felt like something that would be too difficult for me. So I stuck with what I knew, or at least I told myself I would. In reality, life got busy and I hadn’t picked up a pencil in years.

After my daughter, Charlotte, was born, I found myself spending a lot of late nights nursing, rocking and like so many of us do, endlessly scrolling on my phone. Somewhere along the way, my feed filled up with watercolour artists. I became completely fascinated watching them paint and kept thinking, I wish I could do that.

Then one day in April 2026, I was wandering through HomeSense and spotted an inexpensive little watercolour palette. I figured, why not?

I started following tutorials, watching YouTube videos and experimenting whenever I had a little pocket of time. To my surprise, watercolour didn't feel nearly as intimidating as I had imagined. It felt natural. More importantly, I absolutely loved it.

It fit into my life in a way art hadn't for a long time. I didn't need a dedicated studio or hours of uninterrupted time. I could pull out my paints after the kids went to bed, spend half an hour creating something, rinse a few brushes and put everything away.

Eventually, I started sharing some of those practice paintings on Instagram. Friends and family encouraged me to keep going, and slowly, something I had picked up simply because I wanted to create again began turning into something more.

That little HomeSense paint palette eventually led me here to Feather & Fox Studio.

Behind the Paintbrush

Despite the name, Feather & Fox “Studio” doesn't always look much like a studio.

More often than not, it looks like our kitchen table covered in paints, brushes and half-finished ideas.. usually with one of my kids creating something beside me, building Lego nearby, or asking if they can use my paints too.

I'm a mom of three, so painting happens in the little pockets of ordinary family life. Sometimes that's a quiet half hour after bedtime. Sometimes it's in the middle of the afternoon with a very full kitchen table and plenty happening around me.

It isn't always tidy or picture-perfect, but I think that's part of what I love about it. I don't have to step away from my life to be an artist. Somehow, I've found a way for creativity to become part of it.

And somewhere amongst all that everyday chaos, Feather & Fox paintings are made.

Every piece starts with paint & paper

Every piece of artwork at Feather & Fox begins the old-fashioned way with watercolour paper, a paintbrush and a palette of paint.

I love the softness and unpredictability of watercolour: the way colours blend into one another, the texture of the paper showing through, and the tiny imperfections that make a hand-painted piece feel like something made by a person rather than a machine.

Even when one of my original paintings becomes an art print, greeting card or bookmark, it still begins right here, painted by hand at my kitchen table.

That's something I never want Feather & Fox to lose.

♡ Thanks for stopping by my little studio ♡

I'm so glad you're here. Have a look around and see what I've been painting.
